ENTREPRENEUR | TECHNOLOGIST | CAR ENTUSIAST
I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago in the middle-class neighborhood of Chatham (79th & Champlain) to two very loving parents following the christian lifestyle. From an early age, grandma and grandad as I affectionately called them were my best friends whom I couldn't wait to see, and thankfully, they only lived a few blocks away. It was grandad and my dad who instilled in me the entrepreneurial spirit, and mom and grandma's selfless love, passion and ingenuity that fueled my growth.
I attended Chicago Vocational High School, one of the largest schools on the south side of Chicago, befriending Dr. Green our school principal and later becoming her speech writer and my shop teacher Mr. Pickett, Sr., who helped me launch my first business, JC Works, a computer repair business.
It was after graduating high school, my upward trajectory into the world of corporate America began. My very first job was In-Store Apple Computer Specialist at Best Buy. Later, joining Ameritech (now AT&T) as a Customer Service Representative achieving Top Sales status two years in a row. I then relocated to Nashville, Tennessee following my cousin, and began my career in real estate as a Class A Community Leasing Specialist for Harbor Group Management Company, later joining the team at Miles Properties as a Community Manager and relocating to Atlanta.
My passion for technology continued to flourish, and I made the switch back to technology, starting a career with Chamberlain Edmonds (now Change Healthcare) as a IT Support Specialist. Starting from the bottom, I worked my way up the chain, and later joined the leadership team at Coca-Cola Enterprises, the world's largest bottler of Coca-Cola products, as their Global Executive Support Manager. Living through a corporate merger of CCE, I was scouted by the world's most recognizable brand and leader of social media to lead the Executive Support team for the top tier executives at Facebook, relocating to the Bay Area of California.
Never losing my entrepreneurial spirit, in 2010, I launched South Champlain Company, my investment management, technology consulting and real estate investing business. The name paying homage to where I grew up on the south side of Chicago and where my entire family has lived, South Champlain Avenue. I am so very humbled to achieved what I have thus far, and can't wait to sore higher and achieve more!
